This year’s Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) is set to take place over a significantly shorter period compared to previous years. The exam will conclude in just seven days, encompassing 16 shifts, and it will feature tests in single shifts for each subject, eliminating the need for score normalization.

According to Subodh Kumar Singh, Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA), the streamlined schedule will ensure all candidates receive the same question paper and face the same difficulty level. This approach contrasts with last year’s 34-day exam period spread across 93 shifts, which was implemented to avoid technical issues that had affected the exam’s first edition.

The reduction in the exam’s duration is made possible by scheduling all subjects in single shifts, which eliminates the need for score normalization and provides a consistent experience for all candidates. Out of the total subject tests, 15 will be administered in a pen-paper format, while the remaining 48 will be delivered in a computer-based format.

The NTA has also made efforts to accommodate candidates by allotting examination centers within their home states, and in most cases, closer to their homes. This change aims to reduce the need for long-distance travel, making the examination process more accessible and convenient for students.

Initially, the NTA announced that the exam would take place from May 15 to 31. However, the CUET-UG will now conclude on May 24, reflecting the agency’s commitment to a more efficient and streamlined testing process.

In sum, the CUET-UG 2024 presents a more focused and concise examination experience, offering candidates a consistent testing environment while simplifying logistics and improving overall convenience. For CUET preparation Click Here
